About Photo Hack Day
Follow @photohacksfThe original Photo Hack Day was the first image-centric hackathon that brought together the brightest minds in photography, photo-editing, web design, computer science, and more. In 24 hours, over 200 developers put together an impressive 43 hacks with APIs contributed from 25 companies -- a full day display of burgeoning talent in the New York City tech community. Six months later, we had an even better turnout at Photo Hack Day 2, with 250 developers building an astounding 58 hacks.
Now we're taking this awesomeness to the West Coast, with an open call to Bay Area developers and designers. On July 14-15th (2012), Aviary is throwing Photo Hack Day 3 at Dropbox HQ with our friends Facebook, Walgreens, Samsung, Tumblr, and Sincerely, and we want all of you to come!

What: Another full weekend of photo-centric badassery
When & Where: July 14-15 (9am Saturday - 5pm Sunday), 2012 @ Dropbox HQ in San Francisco
Why: To bring all our photo hacking fun to the West Coast!
We'll be keeping all the good stuff the same.
- Awesome APIs and developers from equally awesome companies
- Demonstrations of available APIs, office hours, workshops
- Food and drink aplenty: meals and midnight snacks for all participants
- Lots of sweet prizes
- Lots of sweet prize money
- Evening activities, including but not limited to:
- Games, contests, prizes (may or may not revolve around leftover food)
- Food and drink
- Music
- Ample opportunity for developers to meet, collaborate, and demonstrate their coding prowess in front of company representatives and enthusiastic Demo Day attendees
- An industry-leading panel, moderated by Aviary's CEO Avi Muchnick and discussing "The Future of Photos": Lucas Buick (CEO, Hipstamatic), Dirk Stoop (Lead PM on Photos, Facebook), Bryan O'Neil Hughes (Senior PM for PS and Lightroom, Adobe), and Kristen Berman (Product Manager, Lytro).
We're hell-bent on making this event even more awesome.
